Summer Squash Chutney

Ingredients
- 1 lb summer squash
- 2 cooking apples
- 2 medium tomatoes, peeled
- 3 medium onions
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 pinch cayenne
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 1/2 cups mix dried fruit
- 2 1/2 cups malt vinegar
Recipe
- 1 peel and core the squash and apples.
- 2 chop the squash and apples with the tomatoes and onions.
- 3 put this mixture into a saucepan with the remaining ingredients.
- 4 cook over a low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved.
- 5 bring to a boil. reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- 6 pour into warm sterilized jars and seal.
