The Kerr House Tea

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • hot water
  • cayenne pepper, to taste (do not substitute other peppers, that could be not-so-swell tasting)

Recipe

  • 1 mix together lemon juice and maple syrup.
  • 2 spoon 1-2 tablespoons (to taste) into a mug or tea cup.
  • 3 fill with hot water and lightly sprinkle on a pinch of cayenne pepper, to taste. (you can stir it in if you want to). the syrupy mixture can be made ahead and can be stored in a covered glass in the refrigerator for about a week.
  • 4 variation: (i've never tried this) peel lemons, leaving a generous amount of pulp, which contains bioflavonoids. cut lemon in half, remove seeds. mix in a blender with purified water until liquid. serve according to above directions.
