Peach Frozen Yogurt

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ripe peaches
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (whole milk)
  • fresh squeezed lemon juice, a few drops

Recipe

  • 1 peel peaches, slice them in half, and remove the pits; cut peaches into chunks and cook them with the water in a medium saucepan over medium heat, covered, stirring occasionally, until soft and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • 2 remove from heat, stir in the sugar, then chill in the refrigerator.
  • 3 when the peaches are cool, puree them in a blender or food processor with the yogurt until almost smooth but slightly chunky; mix in a few drops of lemon juice.
  • 4 freeze the mixture in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturerâ??s directions.
