pickled onions

Total Time: 10 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted cumin seed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 red onions, cut in chunks
  • 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro

Recipe

  • 1 bring vinegar, cumin, salt and sugar to a boil in a saucepan, then reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes add onions,simmer for 2 minutes more.
  • 2 transfer to a bowl, stir in cilantro.
  • 3 this tastes better after it sits for a few days or more, covered and refrigerated.
