Pickled Onions

Total Time: 10 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 large red onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 place onion in a medium saucepan with enough cold water to cover. bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • 2 when water begins to boil, cook 1 minute. remove from heat and drain.
  • 3 place onion in a medium bowl. add remaining ingredients and just enough water to barely cover. let stand at room temperature 3-4 hours.
  • 4 to use, drain well. serve as garnish or condiment.
