Switchel

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 ounces ginger, grated fresh
  • 2 quarts water, plus more later

Recipe

  • 1 simmer apple cider vinegar, molasses, sugar, and ginger in 1 to 2 quarts of water for 15 minutes.
  • 2 add enough water to make a gallon of beverage.
  • 3 chill and serve. for optimal benefit, do not strain out the ginger. optional: add 1/2 cup of oatmeal at beginning.
